Kayla and Brian booked their wedding with me a few days prior to their engagement session and they were really wanting to get the photoshoot finished before they left town in a few days. The weather forecast said rain for the next few days, but we decided to play it by ear. We woke up on the morning of their shoot and saw that the beach said no rain from 2pm-4pm. Knowing this wasn't the ideal time for photos, we decided to go for it! We met at a park first and then went to the beach afterwards. The weather ended up being perfect with a thin cloud cover creating the most beautiful skin tones. We had the beach all to ourselves due to the weather, making it so romantic and intimate. The sun peeked out at the very end and created the most picturesque skies!
Choosing the right outfit for an engagement photoshoot is key to taking beautiful, timeless photos. When picking out outfits, I recommend that you think about the location and time of year. If you’re planning an outdoor photoshoot in the winter, make sure to wear warm layers! For a summer session, sundresses and sandals are a great choice. When it comes to colors and patterns, try to choose complementary colors that look good together. Solids tend to photograph better than prints, but if you do want to incorporate prints, keep them subtle and small. If you're stuck on what to wear, neutrals are your best bet! Kayla and Brian decided to do two different looks with the neutrals first and then changing into jerseys and adding a personal touch to their photoshoot. I love this idea! At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you’re comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing. If you feel good in your outfit, you’ll look even better in your engagement photos!
